The renowned Perthshire hotel and country estate, Gleneagles, has joined forces with its neighbour, The Glenturret Distillery, to create the very first Gleneagles single malt.

With a focus on their shared locality and pursuit for excellence, together, two of Scotland’s most iconic brands have united to release 750 hand-numbered bottles of the hotel’s own whisky. This is the first of an ongoing commitment to produce further batches from both The Glenturret and Gleneagles over the next five years.

Equally synonymous with luxury, adventure, and discovery in the heart of Perthshire, Gleneagles and The Glenturret’s Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno, have worked closely over the last year to craft this extraordinary whisky.

The 11Years Old single malt has tasting notes of toffee, cinnamon, and vanilla alongside aromatic flavours of dark spice, rich fruit cake and warm ginger, reminiscent of fireside evenings at Gleneagles.

Each 70cl bottle will be hand-numbered and is now available to purchase at Gleneagles’ dedicated whisky boutique, The Still Room, for £79. It will also be available to order by the dram in the hotels’ Century Bar and American Bar.

To celebrate the launch, guests who purchase a bottle will also be offered a complimentary tour of The Glenturret Distillery which has recently reopened following a substantial 18-month refurbishment.

Daniel Baernreuther, Hotel Manager at Gleneagles, said: “We have always been committed to working with the finest Scottish food and drink producers, but when the opportunity arose to work with our close neighbours at The Glenturret to create our own limited-edition product, we jumped at the chance.

“There have been so many changes over the last few years at Gleneagles. As a natural progression and evolution of our beverage and whisky program, creating our own whisky was the next logical step and because of our shared location, I feel like this is really a match made in whisky heaven.”

John Laurie, Managing Director of The Glenturret said: “We are truly excited about this project. The Glenturret is Scotland’s Oldest Working Distillery, and really important to Scottish history and heritage; and Gleneagles is such an icon of hospitality, that we sincerely felt there was something special to be celebrated here.”
