Edinburgh Food Festival dives into Scotland’s year of ‘Coasts and Waters’

Edinburgh Food Festival will be making a splash with Scotland’s official year of ‘Coasts & Waters’ at this year’s annual foodie event, which will take place at Assembly George Square Gardens over 10 days from Friday 24th July until Sunday 2nd August 2020.

 

This year, Edinburgh’s only free, city-centre food festival will include a series of live chef demonstrations & workshops from some of Scotland’s top culinary talent, who will be cooking up a variety of tasty recipes showcasing the freshest fish and seafood from around the nation’s coasts and waters. 

 

The best of Scotland’s beers, gin and whisky will be joining the line-up and showcasing the nation’s diverse output, all of which will offer Scotland’s legendary tap water which will be available at all bars completely FREE! Worth a visit in itself.

The new line-up for 2020 will also see the return of the hands on ‘meet the producer’ events, bringing you closer to your food than ever before.

 

Over 30 local producers and street food stallholders will be serving up some best contemporary food and drink available in Scotland and the capital. 

 

With quality Scottish food and drink at the heart of it, Assembly’s Edinburgh Food Festival is a fantastic introduction for people of all ages from across the UK and beyond to get a flavour for what Scotland’s larder has to offer in a safe, green, family-friendly oasis. 

 

Edinburgh Food Festival has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2014, hosting some of Scotland’s top chefs and restaurateurs, including leading events chef, Barry Bryson from Cater Edinburgh, Carina Contini of Contini Edinburgh and Scott Smith from multi award-winning restaurant, Fhior. 

 

Edinburgh Food Festival welcomed over 40,000 visitors in 2019. 2020 will bring tastier delights and a bustling garden of culinary creatives to grab your attention and tempt your appetite.

 

The free, non-ticketed festival welcomes visitors and their four-legged friends to Assembly George Square Gardens in the heart of Edinburgh’s world-famous Fringe Festival district.
