Andrew Fairlie 1963-2019

The death of Andrew Fairlie represents a monumental loss for the food and drink sector in Scotland.

As the only chef in Scotland with 2 Michelin stars, he was the best of the best. His achievements showed Scottish cooking and produce belonged on the world stage. For those who believed only London served exceptional food, winning the Sunday Times Best Restaurant in the UK title forced a radical rethink.

For a generation of chefs, he was a kind and generous mentor. At Taste we were lucky to work with him on a number of occasions.

His death came too soon for his family and for the rest of Scotland. He will be missed and remembered with love and affection.
